"I Beat My W!fe Because She Starves Me Of S£'x" -- Man Tells Court

An Ibadan-based mother of seven, Idayat Adekunbi, has asked a Mapo Customary Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, to break down her 22-year-old marriage to her significant other, Wasiu. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reported that Idayat told the court that her better half regularly be-at her and in some cases debilitates to ki-ll her. 

"My lord, Wasiu infers joy in giving a good old fashioned thumping to me not disapproving of any situation. "Truth be told, he is sounding it as a note of caution to me that he would soon put a conclusion to my life. "Beside that, he doesn't have any respect for my relatives. "I have seven kids and I need to harvest the my rewards for so much hard work," Idayat said.

Wasiu, who concurred with the disintegration of the union, affirmed beating his better half.

"My lord, the reality of the matter is that Idayat and I have been having running fight in the course of recent days over a pregnancy she couldn't clarify. "For more than three months now, Idayat has been keeping me from sex. "Give me a chance to express that Idayat and I are ranchers and our homestead grounds are not inside Ibadan.

"Some of the time, she may avoid the homestead for a few months and I will be the one taking care of the kids. "In this way, when Idayat returned home ten days back, I watched that her stomach was at that point jutting and she has begun indicating the greater part of the manifestations she as a rule shows amid pregnancy.

"When I asked her, she snickered and I advised her to give back the pregnancy to whoever claimed it. "I reported the matter to her senior sister and guardians, they all battled me. "For over three months, Idayat did not permit me access to my matrimonial rights," he clarified.

Mr Henric Agbaje, the managing President of the court, requested that the couple go home and look for settlement through the mediation of seniors.

Agbaje suspended the case till October 19 for judgment.
